MARIE-CATHERINE PAQUIER, RESEARCH PROFESSOR AT EUROPEAN BUSINESS SCHOOL, ON FRANCE CULTURE !
On April 21, 2025, Marie-Catherine PAQUIER, a lecturer and researcher in Marketing, had the honor of being invited to the show “Entendez-vous l’éco” on France Culture to discuss her research on monastic economics and the delicate balance between spiritual priorities and temporal imperatives.
The discussions between Marie-Catherine PAQUIER, Isabelle JONVEAUX, a sociologist, and Aliette HOVINE, a journalist, covered topics such as the role and meaning of work, the influence of asceticism on economic practices, and the forms of economic rationality at work in monasteries.
The viewpoints highlighted concepts such as dispossession, sobriety, discernment, and sufficiency, which, although experienced in a religious context, can inform contemporary reflections on sustainable and supportive management.
